Dr. Sketchy's - February

Now to confuse my blog with the date switch! This is some of the best from last month's Dr. Sketchy's session. It was Tank Girl themed and I lovvered it! It starred Emily Aoibheann a.k.a. Blackbird as everyone's favourite tank loving girl and Jimmy Trigger as her dog-kangaroo-human hybrid boyfriend, Booga. I wasn't as happy with a lot of these, but I do like the last one. I was better prepared this month.

Dr. Sketchy's - March

Today I went to my second of Dublin Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School session, which is quickly becoming a staple of my monthly goings-on. Last month was Tank Girl themes - what a perfect first experience! I'll post those photos in the next post, just to be confusing...

March's theme was superheroes, featuring the very pink and sparkly Pixie Spitfire as The Pink Crusader and Jonas Wal as the handsome and bespectacled Clark Kent and later Superman. Roxy Rhinestone, a.k.a. Wonder Woman, also gave us a brilliant performance. Anyhow, these are the best of what I done today.

Hartigan & Nancy Callahan

I drew this (with a loverly inky pen) from a Sin City still and have just finished carving out my very first lino block with this image - stabbed myself pretty badly in doing so, too! I have a picture on my phone but since my email is refusing to work with me you'll have to take my work for it at the mo... it does look pretty nifty! Let the printing begin!

Liquid Ink

Oh, how i love drawing with liquid ink pens!

Doodle

I had the idea to do a doodle a day of whatever popped into my head, or if something happened during the day. So far, I've done one...

Artist Interviews

For both my art appreciation module and for myself and my bloggie, I've been interviewing some phenomenal artists! These include Adam Hughes and Camilla d'Errico, and some folks you mightn't have heard of but definitely should have - Sylvia K, Audrey Bishop, Lorna M. Stephens. I don't mean to leave names out because they're all fantastic, I'm just trying not to over-gush.
I hope you'll check them out! Still to come is Ben Templesmith, BriAnna Olson, Molly Crabapple and Susanne Iles and more!

Pucker Up 'n' Pierce

As part of the NCAD brief, I did some studies of mouths and piercings, mostly in the lip and nose. I was quite happy with how some of them came out. Thank you, polychromos for the puckered mouth close-up. Those pencils are just smashing.
