Little Lotta Lisbeth Post
It's a widely known fact among those who know me that I love Lisbeth Salander. I also love Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara.

Dr. Sketchy's Dublin 2nd Birthday
...and very almost my 22nd. Only a few hours til Sunday now.
W00t, and so on..
I was kinda shocked by how happy I was with my work from this session. I usually fill a heck load of pages and end up only happy with one or two drawings. This month I had a little bit of whatever that elusive 'it' is. I think. I also had a shiny new sketchbook (which I had liberated from my dad - shh) and it was just too nice to not fill with pretty things!
This month's Sketchy's theme was Miss Havisham, the ghostly Dickens character from 'Great Expectations'. Blue Ruin and PostModern Sleeze perfectly embodied the eerily beautiful and haunting theme. Entertainment was provided by the very lovely Lady K & Ruby Noir and their musical stylings. Wonderful day as per usual, all running smoothly with Scarlett Nymph at the helm.
And the unforgiving sunny heat was kept at bay with some nice air conditioning. Ahh.
So, now I'll be quiet and post some photos.

Altering Fairytales
For my final Print assignment, we had to create colour prints based on the theme 'alter'. I had chosen fairytales and how they've been changed and watered down from their gruesome origins, and Disney-ified. These were some of my ideas. The Little Mermaid one hasn't had the bloody stuff added yet. The Snow White one was the only I got to print (and not well, sadly). I also had one planned for Cinderella too. I have the sketches still so I'm gonna work on that series over the summer. Here's what's done so far anyhow.
That was more ramble-y than I'd planned on...

Some Digital Ladies
I'm trying to up my skills with Illustrator -she can be a bit of a harsh mistress! So I drew out a few things this week, mostly ladies, and worked over them digitally.
First is my fantasy gal.. as in the genre, not my dream girl. She's a sort of priestess character, lots of mystery and oooh-y stuff.
Next is my sci-fi lady. I was watching Minority Report and remembered a piece I'd seen years ago in a Manga how-to book. So, this happened. Actually, another version happened first but the mix of markers let to bleeding and blending. I managed to salvage it by doing a digital version, where my markers can't waste!

Human Rights
My final assignment in Digital Illustration this year involved work based on human rights. These are some of the finished pieces, created with Illustrator.

I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way
I'm in zombie mode, so expect many zombie themed drawings over the next while...
This is my take on Jessica Rabbit as a zombie hunter - who also looks rather like the angry lovechild of Snake Plissken, Fray and Rogue. Which just makes me happy.

My friends were quoting and talking about this movie the other day... I really need to watch The Fifth Element again soon! I love Leeloo :)
